Lovers From The Moon

Lovers From The Moon were on Thunder Bay, Ontario's Meathead Records, and had a couple of tracks on this 1996 compilation, entitled It Came From Thunder Bay. And that is the sum total of my knowledge regarding Lovers From The Moon.



It Came From Thunder Bay is mostly comprised of hardcore punk rock, but "Lonesome" and "Tuesday Afternoon" are short, delicate acoustic ballads with a female lead singer accompanied by some low-key drumming and gorgeous minimalist playing on keyboards. They've also got that recorded-live-in-someone's-basement sound that, when it all comes together as it does here, creates its own type of magic.
